Future of keyboards?
Well it seems some design company has done it. Creating a keyboard on which every key has its own tiny LCD screen, allowing each program to control the value of each key. Oh, well, my explanation is crap.
The keyboard is expected to be available in 2006.

Oh well, I did not really think to that aspect of the product, but it really could make big damages :)
However, I think the idea has a great future ahead.
It could become the final solution to reduce keyboard size. You would have only 30 or 40 keys, with some of them that would be triggers to switch to another layer of symbols (ie accents, numbers, symbols...)
